End Of The Playoff Line For Three Foothill League Teams

Canyon, Saugus boys soccer teams, Valencia girls basketball team eliminated.

It was elimination day for the teams from the Foothill League in the CIF Southern Section playoffs on Wednesday.

The Canyon and Saugus boys soccer teams lost their second-round Division III playoff games and the Valencia girls basketball team ended their postseason run in the quarterfinals of the Division II-AA playoffs.

Canyon lost to Bloomington, 4-0 and Saugus lost by the same 4-0 score to Coachella Valley in soccer.
Valencia lost 82-43 to Brea Olinda, the second-ranked team in the country according to calpreps.com, in the girls basketball playoffs. Senior Starla Wright scored 22 points and had six rebounds in her final game for Valencia.

The Saugus girls soccer team continues its impressive run in the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs. They have already knocked off Flintridge Sacred Heart, the top-seeded team in their bracket, and advanced to the quarterfinals. Next up is Crescenta Valley, the Pacific League champions, later on today at Saugus High School.

In college baseball, The Master’s College got two home runs from Pete Goeman in a 7-0 win over Westmont.
