Electronics Recovered After Vandals' Arrest, Owners Sought
Four suspects arrested for vehicle mirror-smashing spree, electronics recovered are suspected to be stolen.
Two men were arrested and their two juvenile companions were also booked
reported the group driving around the area smashing vehicle side mirrors
with a baseball bat early Wednesday morning. Responding deputies located
the described vehicle, a silver Chevrolet pick up truck.
Nicholas Prieto, 23, of
was lying in the bed of a pickup truck next to a baseball bat. Gennaro
Siano, 18, of
the vehicle and had two passengers, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old female.
Also inside the vehicle, deputies located a couple of electronic items which
appeared to have been stolen from other vehicles. It appeared that
the suspects had been driving around
from and vandalizing vehicles during the night. All four
suspects were arrested on suspicion of vandalism and receiving stolen property
and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Station. The two juveniles were
later released to their parents after booking. Prieto and Siano were held at the
station in lieu of $25,000 bail.
During the investigation by detectives, it became apparent that there could
be more stolen property. Detectives served search warrants at two of
the suspect’s homes and located more electronic items. All items are believed
to have been taken from vehicles in the
area some time in the past few weeks.
Siano and Prieto are also suspected of felony vandalism, as
investigators have determined that Siano
and the male juvenile suspect stole the electronic items from vehicles in the
area. The electronic items have not been traced back to their original owners at
Detectives are asking citizens who failed to report that their electronic
items were taken from their unlocked or locked vehicle in the
area during the last three weeks to please contact Detective O'Neill at
