Early Morning ATM Thieves On The Loose
Two separate pay-at-the-pump ATMs hit.
Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station are investigating two separate incidents of theft from pay at the pump automated teller machines (ATM's) that occurred around 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday mornings.
In Thursday's incident the suspects forced their way into the pay at the pump ATM machine at the ARCO Gas Station located at 26409 Sierra Highway, Newhall and fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash. In Friday's incident, using the same method of operation, the suspects forced their way into a pay at the pump ATM machine at the ARCO Gas Station located at 24800 Pico Canyon Road, Stevenson Ranch and again fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The description of the suspects and the vehicle used in both incidents is very similar and detectives believe the same suspects may be responsible for both crimes. The suspects are described as follows: Suspect 1 is a male white, 30-40 years old, curly brown hair, 5’ 8”- 6’, 180-210 pounds, with a goatee, green hooded shirt and blue jeans. Suspect 2 is a male white, 40-45 years old, brown balding hair, 6’, 220-240 pounds, brown or green flannel shift, blue jeans and brown shoes. Suspect 3 is a female white, 25-35 years old, blond hair, 5’4”-5' 5”, 130-150 pounds, wearing a blue hooded sweater, blue jeans and white shoes.
A similar or the same vehicle was seen at both locations and it is described as a mid 90's Toyota 4-Runner or Nissan Pathfinder sport utility vehicle, either red or burgundy in color. A second vehicle may have been used in one of the incidents and is possibly a 1992-1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck, possibly burgundy in color. Detectives will analyze video surveillance footage from these incidents, where available and additional information may be released at a later time.
