Enrique Ramirez, 23, of Los Angeles, and Alejandro Garcia, 36, were pulled over by a Sheriff’s Station’s motorcycle unit near the Magic Mountain Parkway off-ramp of Interstate 5, in the unincorporated area of the Santa Clarita Valley.
At approximately 2 p.m., the deputy conducting a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation noticed the driver did not have a driver’s license.
Prior to impounding the vehicle, the deputy discovered an unregistered handgun, a Colt 1911 .45 caliber pistol, which was loaded.
Both the driver, Ramirez, and Garcia, his passenger were arrested on the weapons charge.
Their car was then towed with a 30-day hold placed on the vehicle.
Both men are due in court Wednesday.
They are being held in lieu of $35,000 bail for being in possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm.
