Two Men Arrested On Weapons Charge Near I-5

Two men are in custody Tuesday at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station after being arrested during a traffic stop Monday.

Enrique Ramirez, 23, of Los Angeles, and Alejandro Garcia, 36, were pulled over by a Sheriff’s Station’s motorcycle unit near the Magic Mountain Parkway off-ramp of Interstate 5, in the unincorporated area of the Santa Clarita Valley.

A motorcycle unit of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's StationAt approximately 2 p.m., the deputy conducting a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation noticed the driver did not have a driver’s license.

Prior to impounding the vehicle, the deputy discovered an unregistered handgun, a Colt 1911 .45 caliber pistol, which was loaded.

Both the driver, Ramirez, and Garcia, his passenger were arrested on the weapons charge.

Their car was then towed with a 30-day hold placed on the vehicle.

Both men are due in court Wednesday.

They are being held in lieu of $35,000 bail for being in possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm.
