Youth Soccer Alive And Well In Santa Clarita
Special AYSO event to be held October 13th at Placerita Jr. High School
Santa Clarita Valley's AYSO Region 678 is throwing its annual Soccer Festival season fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 13th at Placerita Jr. High School on Newhall Ave and 16th Street. Soccer players, moms, dads, relatives, friends and fans are invited to join in.
The day will host food from local food vendors, hot and cold drinks, games and entertainment and the largest Jumper in the City of Santa Clarita. Also, young soccer enthusiasts may not want to miss the chance to Dunk the AYSO Coaches and Regional Commissioner or climb the rock-climbing wall.
The event splits up the Fall 2007 soccer season in the Valencia, Newhall and Stevenson Ranch areas of the SCV. Soccer games will be played for all competitive divisions that day and a great time for younger players to get a chance to watch games.
The Soccer Festival is not just about fun though; it is also the region’s largest fundraiser of the year helping provide the youth players in the region with a soccer program.
Even parents who may not have youth players are welcome to watch or find out more about the Region's program and enjoy the event. Parents with young aspiring players are also encouraged to come by and learn about the program. Just look for someone wearing a bright Orange colored Regional Board member shirt to talk to.
