Willow Run by Sami Mennell

Good morning KHTS listeners.  Hi, my name is Sami Mennell and I attend Meadows Elementary School in the Newhall School District.  I'll be reviewing the book Willow Run, written by Patricia Reilly Giff and it is 149 pages long.

Margaret, or better known as "Meggie", Dillon has her world completely turned around by World War II.  Her older brother Eddie has gone to Europe to fight in the war and Meggie's grandpa is being accused of being a spy because he is German.  Would this cause him to be taken away?

However things get worse.  Meggie's dad informs her that her family will be moving from Rockaway, New York to Willow Run, Michigan to become employed at a factory that creates bombs for the war.  She is devastated to hear that her grandpa isn't coming with them.

When in Willow Run, Meggie makes new friends who teach her lessons about courage and determination.  Thanks to these people, Meggie now has a positive and delightful attitude which gives her a different perspective on life.

I extremely enjoyed this book because of its detailed and suspensful storyline.  I feel others would enjoy this story because it is well-written, amusing, and entertaining.  I strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes surprising and suspensful books.
