Weekend Brings Out The Kids
Kids Day and River Rally cleanup prove popular with locals
This weekend, two major events brought SCV residents out to have a great time, and to help preserve the community.
Kids Day was an official day, proclaimed by Mayor Marsha McLean. It was put on in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club. It was a free event, with carnival rides, hot dogs, face painting and all sorts of other fun stuff for adults and kids to share in. 8,000 were in attendance for the event this year, and increase from last year's 6,000.
The River Rally cleanup is a tradition in Santa Clarita. It involved hundreds of volunteers showing up to help clean up a portion of the Santa Clara riverbed. This year it was a section of the river in Canyon Country.
KHTS was at both events snapping pictures.
