Two Events Celebrate Classic Book

Science Fiction comes to life around the Big Read.

Get ready for two big events coming to Santa Clarita.

 

On April 15th from 6:00-7:00, Fahrenheit 451 author Ray Bradbury will be at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex to speak about his writings. All are welcome to attend.

 

Also, on Saturday, April 21st from 12:00pm to 7:00, a full schedule of events related to Fahrenheit 451 will take over the Santa Clarita Community Center.  

 

From 12-1pm, the Canyon Theatre Guild will perform scenes from Fahrenheit 451.

 

From 1:30 - 2:30, there will be a Book discussion of Fahrenheit 451.

2:40 - 2:50 will be when the essay contest winners announced.

From 3:00 – 4, the audience will hear from Sam Weller, who is Ray Bradbury’s biographer.

4:30 – 6 will play host to an author panel featuring: Larry Niven, Harry Turtledove,

David Kirtley, Sheila Finch, Steven Gould, and David Gerrold.

From 6:15 - 7 these authors will be available to sign books

 

This event is part of The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.
