The City of Santa Clarita’s Transit division is asking for the public’s help to update the City’s Transportation Development Plan.
A public participation meeting will be held on March 18, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Century Conference Room at City Hall. Residents are invited to attend the meeting and share their concerns and ideas regarding the Santa Clarita Transit system. City Hall is located a 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
The Transportation Development Plan (TDP) Update is a project that is intended to research and present transit service needs and also offer a financial plan necessary to meet these needs. The Transportation Development Plan will project the transit services needed for a ten-year period, from 2006 to 2015. The plan will evaluate all service needs in the communities of Santa Clarita including Newhall, Canyon Country, Saugus, and Valencia, as well as communities in unincorporated areas of the Santa Clarita Valley.
The public participation meeting is intended to allow residents of Santa Clarita to provide valuable input to the City about local transit services. Santa Clarita Transit includes the fixed route-local and commuter express bus service as well as the Dial-A-Ride paratransit services.
“The Santa Clarita Transit system is one of the fastest growing public transportation providers in Los Angeles County,” said Dianna Boone, Transit Manager. “We hope that by updating out Transportation Development Plan, we can continue to provide quality service to the growing population in and around Santa Clarita.”
