Topanga Fire 20 Percent Contained - Burbank Blaze Out of Control!
Low humidity along with calm winds is helping firefighters to gain the upper hand on the Topanga Fire, which as of early Friday evening has burned 21,000 acres. A smoke advisory from the South Coast Air Quality Management District was also extended Friday. Air in the San Fernando Valley has been classified as unhealthy, according to AQMD. Areas deemed unhealthy for sensitive individuals include: the Santa Clarita Valley, northwest coastal Los Angeles County, central Los Angeles, the west San Gabriel Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, east San Bernardino Valley and the San Bernardino Mountains. People with heart or lung disease, emphysema, asthma or chronic lung problems should minimize all outdoor activity.
