Symphony Recognizes Long Time Supporter

Local Business Owner Honored

On June 16, Virgil Walker, founder and president of Auton Motorized Systems, received an award for Visionary Leadership and Outstanding Support at the Santa Clarita Symphony's first annual fundraiser, Evening Under the Oaks. The event was hosted by City Councilman Bob Kellar.  Andy Pattantyus, Santa Clarita Symphony Board President, presented Walker with the award saying, "Virgil has been supporting the Symphony long before anyone else had even heard of the idea. No one has been as generous as Virgil and no one has shown such unwavering support along the way."

Walker's civic participation is at the core of his being. In addition to being a founding member of the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Virgil supports more than 30 associations and organizations. Locally, Walker is a top supporter of the Santa Clarita Symphony. With his support, the Symphony reaches out to educate the community and fosters programs that introduce the love of music and instruments to children, particularly important when music programs have been cut from many schools.

Also a leading member of the Valencia Industrial Association, Walker has consistently been the top supporter benefiting the association itself, but more importantly a selected non-profit organization and two local students with their secondary education. Walker enjoys serving as a mentor to business professionals and his business, Auton Motorized Systems is often showcased as successful model of lean manufacturing for local businesses to emulate.
