Stunt Dogs by Amy King

Hi my name is Amy King and I am a fourth grader at Meadows Elementary School in the Newhall School District.  Today, I’ll be reviewing the book, Stunt Dogs written by Jane Mersky Leder.  It was written in 1985.

This book discussed many facts about five famous stunt dogs; Rin-Tin-Tin, Benji, Lassie, Asta, and Nipper.  My favorite was Rin-Tin-Tin.

Rin-Tin-Tin was a famous German Shepherd who was discovered in France during World War I.  The man who found him, Lee Duncan, brought him back to America, and trained him to be in the movies.  From 1923 to 1931, Rin-Tin-Tin appeared in nine movies.  He died at the age of 14.

I liked this book because it gave a lot of interesting facts about dogs.  I really liked the part about how Lee Duncan found Rin-Tin-Tin while fighting in the war.  I recommend this book to people who love dog stories, and like to learn about dog history.
