The Secret Garden by Avneet Ghotra
Good morning KHTS listeners.
Hi my name is Avneet Ghotra and I am a fourth grader at Oak Hills Elementary School in the Newhall School District.
I will be reviewing, The Secret Garden written by Frances Hogde Burrnet. It was written in 1995 and is 289 pages long.
The Secret Garden is about a young spoiled girl Mary whose parent's died in a plague; so she had to be sent to live with her uncle in rural England. When she arrives there she explores the house and surroundings and finds a magical secret garden. She also discovers her cousin Collin who is incurable, bedridden and destined to die. She befriends a servant boy and they introduce Collin to the garden and the magic of imagination.
I like the book, The Secret Garden because the story uses descriptive language and is very creative. The story also keeps the readers interest.
Young readers will enjoy this book if they enjoy realistic fiction, the outdoors, adventure and mystery.
