The Theatre Project/SCV is holding chorus auditions for its upcoming production, AN EVENING WITH STEPHEN SCHWARTZ, at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 1st at Vibe Performing Arts Studios, 24460 ¼ Lyons Avenue in Santa Clarita).  Auditions are restricted to those age 16 and up, and those attending should prepare 16 bars of a song to perform and be ready to sight-sing harmonic parts.

This one-night only benefit performance will feature a star-studded principal cast and highlight the musical works of Stephen Schwartz, composer and/or lyricist of such Broadway hits as Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin, and such animated films as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, The Prince of Egypt.

The show will feature a 20-person chorus, of which ten members will be selected from current students in the theatre and music programs at College of the Canyons.  Those COC students interested should come to this audition to be considered for the chorus.

With Artistic Producing Directors Mark Salyer and Andrea Slominski at the helm, The Theatre Project/SCV, California’s up-and-coming regional theatre company, is dedicated to providing performance opportunities to area students and others.  "We have as part of our mission a commitment to supporting area arts programs and companies both financially and through cross promotions,” says Slominski.

"Since I began teaching at College of the Canyons four years ago, I have become extremely impressed with the arts programs in the local school system,” adds Salyer.  “The amazing show choirs, the theatre departments, and the local community groups have all provided excellent training ground for young performers. We'd like to become part of that network of arts education that is producing such great talent.
