SCV Parade: July 4, 2004

On July 4th, 2004, KHTS took part in the annual 4th of July Parade, which runs through portions of Newhall and Valencia. Our float saluted our local firefighters, who work so hard to ensure our safety. Dr. Ron Singer loaned us an antique firetruck from his collection, and we had three local firefighters on board with us as we rode through the parade route. Thank you to the parade judges, who awarded our float 3rd Prize!

What a great looking firetruck!

Carl Goldman says thanks to Dr. Singer for letting us borrow this sweet ride!

The KHTS Crew gathers around the float, along with our local firefighters!

While on the parade route, KHTS Ellen Como and Linda Jones led the crowd

through a spirited rendition of "YMCA."

After the parade, we headed towards Newhall Park, where a live band was playing, and there were several different booths set up. Above, Mayor Bob Kellar visits the Operation Interdependence Booth.

Operation Interdependence gathers letters and goods for our servicemen and women overseas and sends them to where they are needed most. Above, Kyle Goldman has written a letter of his own...

...thanks for the letter, Kyle!

The staff of KHTS, along with Mayor Bob Kellar and Kurt Wilson from Operation Interdependence, gather for a photo.
