Santa Clarita Valley Libraries Begin One Book, One Santa Clarita Program
Yann Martel’s Life of Pi, an imaginative tale of adventure and survival, will launch the first annual One Book, One Santa Clarita. The city-wide event will feature a one-month series of programs revolving around Life of Pi, kicking off during National Library Week (April 10-16).
Members of the community are invited to read Yann Martel’s Life of Pi and join in the community events.
Beginning Monday, April 11th, Santa Clarita public, school and academic libraries join to present a series of activities to encourage reading, discussion, and strengthen our sense of community. Book discussions will be held at several local libraries, Borders Books and Music, and the
About “One Book, One Santa Clarita”
The goal of One Book, One Santa Clarita is to encourage individuals to read the same book and participate in discussions and events during the same one- month period. The program promotes the positive values that libraries represent: public discussion, life-long learning, and community-building. Each year, this annual program will focus on a different title reflecting the diversity and interests of our community.
