Safe Driving Class Set For Teens

Help teach your teen safe driving techniques Saturday at Santa Anita Park.

It’s a free program put on by Drivers Edge.

Motor vehicle collisions kill more teens every year than drugs, guns and violent crimes combined, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.  Teen drivers are also four times more likely to be in a fatal crash than older drivers, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute.

Driver’s Edge, with its innovative and potentially life saving instructional program, will kick off its fifth national tour in Southern California to help tackle this problem.  On April 21st, Southern California teens can benefit from this non-profit organization’s free program with expert classroom and behind-the-wheel accident avoidance instruction.

There will be classroom and behind-the-wheel defensive driving instruction on skid control, evasive lane change maneuvers, anti-lock braking skills and panic-braking techniques.

Also, Police will be on hand to raise impaired driving awareness and talk about seat belt safety.

There are two sessions Saturday, at 8:00am and 1:00pm, and you must register in advance. Check out www.driversedge.org.
