Repairs At Hart Underway

District says some work already done, more on the way.

ImageMany Hart High School parents and faculty came to some recent William S. Hart District board meetings to ask why their school, along with Placerita and Sierra Vista Jr. Highs have not received some much needed repairs.

As some asked questions about the money for the project, the District said that they were looking to identify funding, and would prioritize repairs based on safety issues, and other pressing needs.

In a letter sent to Hart High School parents, Chief Operations Officer Rob Gapper explained what repairs had already been completed, and which were slated for the summer.

Among the repairs are the following:

Mold testing has been completed in twenty three instructional areas, all but one tested clean. The source of the problem of the one that tested positive was a cabinet, which, after getting cleaned out tested clean as well.

A termite inspection has been done, and no buildings showed signs of infestation.

The exterior of building T has been painted.

Ceiling tiles in the Library were replaced.

Parking lot repairs have been completed.

The baseball field’s scoreboard has been replaced.

17 classrooms are scheduled to have their carpet replaced.

A new roof will go in on the F, C and R buildings during the summer.

Other repairs have also been completed or are underway.

In addition, the first phase of a major modernization plan is currently being drawn up by an architect.
