Red Cross Opens Evacuation Center In Lakes Hughes

The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles has set up an evacuation center at the Holiday Valley Club House, for those who are displaced by the Lakes Hughes/Pine wild fire.

The center is located at : 25318 Ideal St., Lancaster, Ca 93536. Any resident who has been displaced or forced to evacuate has the option of going to the evacuation center, staffed and operated by Red Cross volunteers. The center may be converted into a full fledged shelter providing bedding, bathing, and hot meals - depending on necessity.

The Red Cross disaster volunteers have been on scene since 5:00pm Monday, providing snacks and refreshments to emergency workers and residents. There is currently a Red Cross Agency Representative at the Incident Command Post to coordinate disaster relief efforts with firefighters and other officials. Additional evacuation centers may open as the need arises.
