Racism Discussions Continue at Valencia

Thursday brought a large presence of news media to Valencia High School, which has been at the forefront of discussions about racism, which has been reported in increasing numbers throughout the valley over the last few months....

As heard on the Hometown Morning Show, Hart School Board Member Steve Sturgeon and City Councilman (also Assistant Principal at Saugus High and formerly at Valencia High) Frank Ferry reiterated that this is not a new problem in the valley, and it is not necessarily restricted to Valencia High School.

With the population growth in Santa Clarita, the schools have become more racially and socially diverse, and with that, tensions have been mounting between different groups.

You can join in the discussions and the campaign by checking out the Hart District Website at hartdistrict.org.
