Parks & Rec Master Plan Calling For Public Input
Public Encouraged to Attend Comment Meeting on Monday, June 11, 2007
The City of Santa Clarita is encouraging residents to attend the first of three community workshops for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan Update. The first workshop is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2007 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Activities Center in the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.
The Community Workshops will focus on what the public sees as community needs, issues, opportunities and constraints in the parks, recreation, and open space areas. This is an opportunity to influence the future of Santa Clarita. All community members are invited to attend this workshop.
“This is an excellent opportunity for community members to ask questions and incorporate their ideas and opinions on future parks, recreation, and open space expansion opportunities in Santa Clarita over the next decade,” commented Rick Gould, City Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department.
The City’s population, demographic characteristics, and the needs of the community have changed over the years. This is an opportunity for the public to join their fellow community members and play a part in shaping the new master plan for the future of parks, recreation, and open space areas in Santa Clarita.
