Newhall Kidnapping Suspect Sketch Released

Man wanted for attempted kidnapping

Newhall kidnapping suspect Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials have released a drawing of a suspect they believe to be responsible for attempting to kidnap a Hart High School girl when she was leaving the school campus last Thursday.

According to Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station, at around 5:00pm last Thursday evening, a Hart High student was leaving campus. After driving out of the parking lot, she apparently realized that she left her backpack on the roof of her car. The girl then stopped her car outside of the school campus, near the intersection of Kansas St and Oak St.

When she walked down the street to retrieve her backpack, she alleges that a male Hispanic pushed her against the back of her car. She then was able to fight him off and get back into her car, at which point he reportedly tried to grab her through the window.

The girl was able to drive away, and was not injured.
