New Junior High Makes it Official
On a peaceful hilltop with a spectacular view of the mountains and the Santa Clarita Valley, Rancho Pico Junior High School was officially dedicated Tuesday morning, with appropriate pomp and circumstance...
Present at the campus quad of the school, at 26250 W. Valencia Road in Stevenson Ranch, were more than 600 students, parents, administrators and representatives of government officials.
The school’s principal, Dave LeBarron, thanked those students involved in helping prepare the schools, the faculty and staff, and myriad others who had assisted in making the school a reality.
LeBarron, speaking after the formal presentation, said his goals include “building relationships with the community and providing a vigorous and relevant curriculum.”
The city of Santa Clarita is very honored to be here,” Mayor Bob Kellar said. He gave those assembled some advice that had been passed on to him: “The three elements of success ... are education, education and education.”
“History is in the making here,” said William S. Hart Union High School District Superintendent Bob Lee. “The vision for this school began in the 1980s.” He thanked everyone who participated in the planning and construction of the campus.
