The Meanest Doll in the World by Josh Melancon
Good morning KHTS listeners. Hi! My name is Josh Melancon and I attend Meadows Elementary School in the Newhall School District.
I will be reviewing the book The Meanest Doll in the World, written by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin. It was written in the year 2003 and it is 260 pages long.
This book is about a doll named Anna Bella, who is very old-fashioned, and her best friend Tiffany, who is very modern. They decide to go inside their owner’s backpack, so they climb down to see what is going on at her school. When they return from the school, they accidentally climb into the wrong backpack. When they get out, they find a doll named Mean Mimi. Mean Mimi terrorizes all the others dolls in the room. Anna Bella and Tiffany help the other dolls by making traps and using Mean Mimi’s own henchmen, or “Hench-dolls”, against her.
When Anna Bella and Tiffany finally get home, they find Mimi in their owner’s backpack. Mean Mimi tries to scare there families, but the owner sees Mimi moving, putting Mimi into a coma. Dolls get frozen if they are seen moving by humans.
I really like this book because it has lots of adventure and a ton of surprises.
I think kids would enjoy this book because there is action and fun. I recommend it to children who are mature enough to deal with real like problems but in a mystical way.
