McKeon Hails Passage of Highway Bill
"Our roads and highways have not been able to keep up with the rapid population growth of our area," said Rep. McKeon. "This legislation will help address our area's transportation infrastructure needs, making it safer and easier for residents to get from one place to another. This is an important day for all users of our community's highway infrastructure, and I look forward to seeing the President sign this legislation."
Following are the transportation projects included in the bill:
Cross Valley Connector - $9 million
This important transportation project will connect Interstate 5 and State Route 14, significantly easing traffic in and around the city and increasing the efficiency of commerce in the area. Addition of carpool lane and truck lane on Interstate 5 - $1.6 million
This project will help add one truck lane and one High Occupancy Vehicle lane to the North and South bound Interstate 5 between Route 14 and
Rancho Vista Blvd/Ave. P widening project - $2.8 million

This project consists of constructing a multi-span grade separation bridge across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad tracks, along with street improvements to meet City and
Regional Transit Operations Facility - $418,000
This project will facilitate expansion of transit services within the Town of Mammoth Lakes to year round service delivery. It will also provide regional transit service providers, such as Inyo-Mono Dial-a-Ride, with an in-town location to conduct operation and maintenance activities and to store vehicles. This will provide both local and regional transit systems with the needed infrastructure to enable them to expand and improve transit service delivery locally and regionally.
Addition of interchange to I-15 and improvement of connecting roads - $1.2 million
This project will add an interchange on Interstate 15, build a
This project provides new freeway access from the I-15 freeway to U.S. 395 and will provide new highway access to the Southern California Logistics Airport.
This project will realign and widen U.S. 395 (conventional 2 lane highway) from I-15 junction to 2 miles north of State Route 58.
Bridge Replacement at Big
This project will replace the twin bridges with a single deck bridge 80 feet wide capable of accommodating two lanes of traffic in each direction.
