On June 2, 2005, Santa Clarita City Councilwoman Marsha McLean was elected to serve as the 2005-2006 Treasurer for the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities.

McLean was nominated for the position by the Division’s Nominating Committee. She was unanimously elected by Council Members from cities throughout Los Angeles.

Her one-year term will begin August 4, 2005, kicked off by a special Installation Dinner at the Port O’Call Restaurant in San Pedro. She also serves as Vice Chair of the League of California Cities Statewide Community Services Policy Committee. McLean will continue to serve as a councilmember during her term as treasurer.

The League of California Cities was developed to be a leading advocate for the interests of the cities of California. The City of Santa Clarita has been a

dues paying member of the organization since shortly after incorporation in 1987.

“We are proud to see one of our own being chosen for this office,” said Mayor Cameron Smyth. “Marsha McLean has shown amazing service and dedication to the City of Santa Clarita, and she will no doubt, bring those qualities to the Los Angeles County Division of League of California Cities.”
