Local Girl Wins UCI World Championship
7 year-old Madison Martinez wins the World Championships in Canada.
UCI World Champion Madison Martinez
Just a month ago, the USA Cycling Organization chose Santa Clarita's Madison Martinez to ride for the Team USA in the 2007 UCI BMX World Championships in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Little Madison not only particpated in the race, but also won the championship. As the sport rises to to its Olympic status, this race could be one of the most important ones, by helping determine athlete's particpation numbers and country ratings.
During the race, Madison beat out riders from all over the world, including, Canada, Columbia, and Lithuania. To see a video of Madison's race to the finish line click here.
