LARC Ranch stopped by the KHTS Resource Station on September 12, 2011 for the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight.

The Non-Profit Spotlight – hosted by Janice Murray can be heard every Monday at 10AM on AM-1220 KHTS.

LARC ranch has a come a long way since its inception in 1959. They have a residential program as well as an adult center – which provides a variety of recreational activities for developmentally disabled adults. They also offer programs that prepare participants to enter the workforce. LARC Ranch was evacuated during the recent fires that affected Bouquet Canyon in Fall-2007. They lost their indoor swimming pool to the fire and have plans to build a new outdoor pool.

As a Non-Profit, L.A.R.C. holds fundraising events throughout the year. Money raised helps cover operation costs and funds improvements to the ranch. Their next event is the Reggae Sunsplash Festival 2011 which will take place on Sunday September 18th at 1pm. Come join LARC Ranch for a fabulous luncheon with dessert extravaganza and reggae music from See Spot.

LARC is dedicated to helping adults with special needs to thrive by providing a residential program that gives its residents a new sense of purpose and pride.

Thanks to Chuck and Kathleen Sturkey for stopping at the KHTS Community Resource Station.
