On November 9 2005, KHTS hosted "Stump the Politician", an event put on in conjunction with The Gas Company. It was an opportunity for local elementary students to go "head to head" with local government officials. Speaking to the students were California State Senator George Runner, California Assemblyman Keith Richman, and the Mayor of Santa Clarita, Cameron Smyth.
