Memorial Set for Murder Victim

The memorial service for Christopher Simons, the 24-yearo-old adult gift shop clerk who was shot and killed New Year’s Day, has been set for this Thursday at 5 p.m. at Eternal Valley in Newhall, off the 14 at San Fernando Road.  The memorial service will be on Friday at noon at Grace Baptist Church in Saugus….

The Signal reports that Simons was always weary of his overnight work schedule.  Robert Wheeler, the 25-year-old man who allegedly killed Simons and shot and wounded two others, is still recovering at Henry Mayo hospital from his self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Apparently the shooting took place over some sort of argument over a sex toy at the store.

More on this story and the aftermath of the shooting is in today’s Signal.
