Lady Lollipop by Lindsay Kunz

Hi, my name is Lindsay Kunz and I am a fourth-grader at Pico Canyon Elementary School in the Newhall School District.

I’ll be reviewing Lady Lollipop, written by Dick King-Smith, and illustrated by Jill Barton.  It was written in 2001 and is 128 pages long.

Lady Lollipop is about a spoiled and selfish princess named Penelope who learns to be a better person through her experiences training her pet.  She also discovers how to be a friend and the rewards of being a good friend.  One of the funniest things about this story is that her pet is a pig!

I really enjoyed this book.  I thought that the main characters were funny and enjoyable.  The story was about a girl’s journey to improve herself through her daily adventures as a princess.  I liked the fact that there were no bad guys or violence.

I think readers would enjoy this book as much as I did because the story is very engaging, and hard to put down.
