Bomb Threat Shuts Down COC

College of the Canyons was shut down on Saturday night when someone called in a bomb threat to the Santa Clarita Sheriffs.

The stage production of “Big River” at the Vital Express Center was cancelled, as was part of a two day convention for about 500 members of Alcoholics Anonymous. Students and school officials were also evacuated.

The Sheriffs and California Highway patrol evacuated the campus. COC administrators told KHTS they wanted to be assured of everyone’s safety when they made the decision to cancel everything for the evening.

After a thorough search of the campus, no suspicious items were found.
