Kicking off an annual Halloween charity event, Santa Clarita Mayor Bob Kellar will present the “Stake to the City” to Bobby “Boris” Pickett at the opening of Molar Manor, in Santa Clarita. Molar Manor is a 5,000 square foot haunted maze that will put a chill in the bones of the thousands of local residents who dare to walk through. The interactive lights, sounds and special effects are unsurpassed anywhere else in the country. Created by a local pediatric dentist, Dr. Ron and Rachel Singer, Molar Manor has become a major Santa Clarita Halloween attraction.
Bobby “Boris” Pickett released the song, “Monster Mash” in 1962 when it became number 1 in eight short weeks. The song has hit the Billboard Top 100 three separate times. It has since become the anthem for Halloween.
Pickett will perform his classic immediately following the presentation from the Mayor. A local youth dance troupe will be performing the “Monster Mash Ballet” while Pickett performs his hit.
Local radio station, AM-1220, KHTS will broadcast the ceremony. Other local dignitaries and goblins will be on hand.
All proceeds from the event, raise funds and awareness for three local charities, The Foundation For Childrens’ Dental Health, CLEAR (Community Law Enforcement and Aware Response) and CLASS (The Children’s Liver Association For Support Services).
Molar Manor will remain open on Saturday, October 23rd from 5 p.m. until Midnight and on Sunday, October 24th from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. A reasonably priced food court is offered.
