In the second round of CIF-SS Northern Division Playoff action, the Foothill League Champion Hart Indians cruised past Paso Robles, 35-7.  Senior running back Delano Howell had 128 yards to break Ted Iacenda’s single season and career rushing record at Hart.  In a game heard on KHTS, the Saugus Centurions rallied from a slow start to get the win, 34-6.  Ryan Zirbel had three scores on his final three touches, to help Saugus defeat Pac-7 Champion Atascadero for the second-consecutive year.  In a game heard live on KHTS, the Valencia Vikings were eliminated by Marmonte League Champion Newbury Park, 29-28, on a field goal with 23.9-seconds remaining.

 

The College of the Canyons Cougars were eliminated by Bakersfield, 48-45, in double overtime, in a game heard live on KHTS.  The loss marked the second in three weeks to the Renegades.

 

The Saugus Centurions girl’s Cross-Country team won their second-consecutive CIF Division I State Championship on Saturday in Fresno.

 

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New Jersey Nets, 102-100, on Sunday.

 

The Los Angeles Kings went one-for-two over the weekend, defeating San Jose on Saturday, but falling to Anaheim on Sunday.  The Kings take travel back to San Jose on Wednesday, and KHTS will have that game live at 7pm.
