Wrapping up the weekend’s local high school football action, the top ranked Hart Indians beat the Loyola Cubs 21 to 13. The win gave head coach, Mike Herrington his 200 career win at Hart.  Saugus shutout St. Francis behind a dominating defensive performance, 33 to 0.  Valencia beat Westchester 35 to 6.  West Ranch defeated Grace Brethren 37 to 20.  Golden Valley lost to Beverly Hills 35 to 12 and Santa Clarita Christian lost to number 2 ranked, Rolling Hills 37 to 6. 

Things will get very exciting for all of our teams as Foothill League play will begin this week.

 

The defending girls cross country state champion, Saugus Centurions, won the Clovis Invitational this weekend in Fresno.  Saugus won while competing without two of their top runners. Katie Dunn, Brianna Jauregui, Anne Randall and Nina Moore led the Centurions by placing in the top ten.

 

The Boston Red Sox beat the Angels 9 to 1 to complete a three game sweep in their divisional playoff series.  The Red Sox will play the winner of the Indians-Yankees series for the American League Championship.
