Hometown Morning Sports Report

[view:node_ad=5]In girls’ tennis, Golden Valley shut out Littlerock 18 to 0. Valencia won the tiebreaker after tying Oxnard 9 to 9.  Behind the strong play of Isabella Fraczek, the Vikings extended their record to 5 – 0.

 

In golf, the girls Foothill League season opened at Vista Valencia with Hart finishing on top of the leaderboard.  Led by Amanda Coor, the Indians shot a team score of 198.  Valencia and Saugus tied for second with a score of 205.

 

In girls’ volleyball, Golden Valley ran their record to 3 and 1, as they swept Alemany in three games. Also, Santa Clarita Christian swept Wildwood 3 to nothing.

 

Don’t forget that KHTS will bring you exciting high school football action tomorrow night as the 2 and 0 West Ranch Wildcats play host to the Pasadena Bulldogs.  The pre-game show starts at 6:30.  Barry McKeever will have the play-by-play at 7:00, on AM-1220 KHTS.

 

The Dodgers playoff hopes took a serious blow, as they dropped both games of a double header against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies won the first game 3 to 1 and won the second 9 to 8 on a 9th inning walkoff homer by Todd Helton.  With 11 games to go, each one will be crucial.  KHTS will have all of today’s action from Colorado with the first pitch at 5:35, preceded by the pre-game show at 4:30.
