Hit-and-Run Driver Kills One

Highway patrol officers arrested Ruben Rodriguez, 21 of West Hills, on charges of second degree murder. Rodriguez was allegedly drunk and driving southbound in the northbound lanes when he hit a first car, causing minor injuries to Kristopher Olin, 32, of Valencia. Rodriguez reportedly fled the scene of that crash, and four minutes later, as he neared Calgrove Boulevard, slammed into another car, killing its driver, Sato Shinsuke, 25, of Bakersfield. Shinsuke's passengers, Tetsuya Nakayama and Eiji Okuda, both of Bakersfield, sustained moderate severe injuries.
