Heavy Rain Soaks the SCV
After days of drizzle, rain pummeled the Santa Clarita Valley on Tuesday night, causing at least 20 traffic collisions and multiple mishaps. The National Weather Service’s flood watch in areas burned by recent brush fires will continue until 8 p.m. tonight... Crashes congested the freeways and surface streets throughout the valley Tuesday.
Several successive crashes in the evening coincided with the onset of heavier rain, and included a hit-and-run that injured a pregnant woman on state Route 14, and a three-car crash on Interstate 5 near Pico Canyon Road.
