Foundation for Children’s Dental Health will be sponsoring a dental clinic for local, low-income children
Now in its twelfth year of service, the Foundation for Children’s Dental Health will be sponsoring a dental clinic for local, low-income children, some of whom have never visited a dentist. The clinic, which is co-sponsored by Albertson’s who donated $40,000 to the Foundation, will be held May 19-26, 2006, and it's being held at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, located at 19513 Drycliff Street, Canyon Country, (cross street is Camp Plenty) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. During the clinic, local Albertson employees will be volunteering their time and hosting a nutrition information booth with prizes for the kids, and providing refreshments for the parents of the children receiving treatment.
Other sponsors include Delta Dental, The Zonta Club of the SCV Foundation, and the City of Santa Clarita. Local Santa Clarita dentists will help with the pre-clinic dental screenings and the USC School of Dentistry dentists will be treating the children at the clinic. “The goal is to serve approximately 120 children between the ages of five and 17. The Foundation will be providing everything from checkups and x-rays to fillings and even major dental work as necessary,” explains Ericka Watson, Executive Director of the Foundation for Children’s Dental Health.
