Fmr. Assemblyman Richman To Head Providence Campaign
Dr. Keith Richman, the former State Assemblyman for Santa Clarita and other areas has taken up an offer to head a campaign to build a new 101 bed tower at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
Richman was a practicing physician for many years before entering politics, a career move that ultimately earned him high marks among his constituents.
“There are not enough hospitals or hospital beds in the San Fernando Valley,” Richman told KHTS.
“Therefore this is not only a very important project for Providence Holy Cross, but it's very important for the community.”
And the borders don’t simply stop in the San Fernando Valley. With more and more residents of Santa Clarita choosing Providence as their hospital of choice, and some heart attack victims now being subject to mandatory routing to Holy Cross, the need for the extra space reaches further up and down the map.
“Holy Cross is a level 2 trauma center, which is very high, and it provides critical services to people throughout the whole region."
Richman’s role as campaign chair would put him in charge of raising the necessary funding from philanthropy to build the project.
