Fire Update: Tuesday Evening
The 4,128-acre fire in the Lake Hughes area of the Angeles National Forest is roughly 30 percent contained at this hour...Winds started pushing the blaze north Tuesday and it was headed away from Happy Valley. The blaze started about 12:30 p.m. Monday and quickly spread in the heavy brush, fanned by winds that gusted around 20 mph. One outbuilding and a motorhome were destroyed. Two firefighters have suffered heat-related injuries. The fire moved into thick forest that hadn't burned in 75 years.
