Fans to Turn Dodger Stadium into “Blue Heaven on Earth”

Fans encouraged to wear Dodger blue on Saturday
For decades, Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda has affectionately called Dodger Stadium "Blue Heaven on Earth."  tomorrow, in honor of the Dodgers' first home playoff game, Los Angeles fans are planning to make Lasorda's dream a reality. The Dodgers are encouraging all fans in attendance to show their Dodger pride by wearing Dodger blue to the team's Division Series home opener against the New York Mets.

"I just spent the last two days in New York and the fans there were outstanding. They were on their feet for nearly every pitch and they were loud," said Lasorda. "I've always said that we have the greatest fans in all of baseball and we need to show the rest of the country that it's the truth! I want all of them to show up wearing blue and support their team loudly from the first pitch to the last."

The Los Angeles Dodgers have represented the Los Angeles community since 1958. With a cumulative attendance of more than 172 million, the Dodgers have played before more fans than any other sports franchise in history.

Over the years, the team has made 24 postseason appearances and has won six world championships.
