Early Morning Voting Snafu for Sand Canyon Residents
As reported earlier today on KHTS, there has been a voting snafu involving Sand Canyon residents.
Carl Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM-1220 is quoted as saying, “The County screwed up.” The designated polling place, Fire Station 123, was not set-up and ready for voters. Voters were being sent away without voting.
The latest word, Carl Goldman received from the County Registrar of Voters at 9:20am, was the polling place would open by 10am. That is three hours after the designated polling hours.
Voters can also go to any other polling place and vote a “Provisional” ballot. A provisional ballot allows a voter’s vote to be counted after the Registrar of Voters checks the rolls of qualified voters.
The three closest polling places to Sand Canyon are:
1. The Joanne Darcy Library in Canyon Country
2. Pinetree Elementary School Library
3. Sierra Heights Mobile Home Park on the 30,000 block of Sand Canyon between Sierra Highway and Soledad
