COC JAZZ AND SYMPHONIC BAND TO PERFORM

The Department of Music at the College of the Canyons is pleased to announce their annual May Pops! Concert to be held on Friday, May 13, 2005. The concert will begin at 7:30 pm and will be held in the Vital Express Center for the Performing Arts on the COC campus.

The concert will showcase the Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. KC Manji. The band will be performing such favorites as What a Wonderful World arranged by Richard Saucedo and famously recorded by Kenny G. Billy Kerr, a faculty member at COC, will play the saxophone solo for this piece. Also included in the program are South Pacific by Richard Rodgers, a medley of songs by rock legends Chicago, a Disney medley, as well as others.



The COC Studio Jazz Ensemble will be performing under the direction of Dr. KC Manji. They will be playing songs arranged by former director Dirk Fischer as well as others such as The Spinning Wheel originally performed by Blood, Sweat and Tears and arranged by John Barry.
