Deputy Lorenzi moved to the Santa Clarita Valley with his parents in 1973 when he was 10 years old. He attended Old Orchard Elementary, Placerita Junior High, Hart High School and College of the Canyons locally.
It was at COC where Deputy Lorenzi became interested in law enforcement when he enrolled in a Police Science class taught by Richard Clemence. Mr. Clemence convinced him to begin the testing process for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and he was hired 9 months later in January 1984. Deputy Lorenzi completed the Sheriff’s Academy and was assigned to the Wayside Detention Center in Castaic, where he worked for 3 years.
He then worked at Malibu Sheriff’s Station from 1987 to 1992, when he transferred to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. He has worked in a patrol car in the SCV for the past 14 years and recently began working on the STTOP program and the “Every 15 Minutes” program.
