City Receives Grant for Alcohol Enforcement

The grant is designed to help local agencies limit the availability of alcohol to minors, to reduce alcohol-related crimes and disturbances, and to assist with getting local establishments to comply with alcohol laws.
Using grant money, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department, City, and Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will work together to identify and target problem establishments with liquor licenses and will develop strategies to enforce the law. The programs developed will encompass an array of education and enforcement strategies.
“The City is always looking for better ways to make sure that the community is safe and that local businesses are in compliance with the law,” said Mayor Cameron Smyth. “This new grant money will help us ensure that everyone is meeting all the necessary requirements to keep alcohol-related incidents at a minimum within the City.”
