CITY READY FOR RAINY WEATHER!

As the rainy season begins, the City of Santa Clarita’s Field Services Department is ready for the inclement weather and any problems it may bring to public roads, drains and property.

The City is fully stocked on sand and sand bags for City use.  Additionally, the City’s Urban Forestry division is on-call tonight for any trees that happen to blow over.

City crews will be focusing on four traditionally problematic areas including WileyCanyon,

Sierra Highway

, SandCanyon and PlaceritaCanyon.  The City’s field services staff will monitor radar throughout the afternoon and evening, and will bring in additional crews as needed.

The City’s Storm Water division is actively patrolling the roadways to avert any potential drainage issues that may arise in the City.

“The work that the City has been doing all year long to clear storm drains and repair roadways will help prevent major problems in public right-of-ways as we head into the rainy season,” said Chris Daste, Field Services Director of the City of Santa Clarita.

            Residents who need sandbags may receive up to 25 per household free of charge at local County of Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Stations in Santa Clarita.  For more information, call (323) 881-2413.
