City Invites Parents to Mixer Forum
The City of Santa Clarita’s Community Services division would like to invite parents to a Parent Mixer Forum on Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers. The forum is entitled “Successful Parenting.” The event is part of the City’s free Pride in Parenting Workshop program, which is designed to offer parents a combination of support, education, resources, and incentives to become more knowledgeable and to be the best parents they can be. A different workshop is held each month of the year. “Successful Parenting” will feature a panel of parenting professionals who will give advice and answer questions on communication, discipline, self-esteem, and more. The panel includes parenting instructors Carri Arquilevich, M.A., MFT, Glenda Bona, M.S., Ed Redd, and Leighton Reynolds, Ph.D. A Spanish-language translation of the workshop will be available upon request.
“We are excited to be able to offer this great opportunity for parents to come out and ask questions of true parenting experts,” said Adele MacPherson, Community Services Superintendent for the City. “These workshops are a great resource not only for new parents, but for all those who want to further their parenting skills.”
The mixer is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 pm. Please RSVP at 661/255-4965 by Tuesday, January 17, 2006. City Hall is located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
