City Council Recognizes Love Ride Founder

At the Tuesday October 25, 2005 City Council meeting at City Hall, the Council recognized Love Ride Founder Oliver Shakouh for his outstanding contributions locally via the Love Ride. The Love Ride, now in its 22nd year, is an annual motorcycle ride (the largest in the world) from Glendale to Castaic that raises money for a variety of charities. To date, the ride has raised over $17 million, and 20,000 riders are expected to participate this year. Oliver was given a City proclamation thanking him for his efforts. This year's Ride takes place Sunday November 13th, with a special Harley Davidson Stunt Show taking place the day before, on Saturday the 12th.
