Choir Fundraiser Turns To Firefighter Thank You

Canyon High School Choir visits local firefighters with would-be bake sale goodies

Before the fires, CHS Choral Booster Club was preparing to host their traditional “Weekend Before Halloween Lombardi’s Bake Sale”, the biggest fundraiser of the year.  But after the Buckweed fire raged across our valley, destroying parts of Lombardi Ranch, it was obvious the fundraiser would be cancelled.

The devastating loss the Lombardi's suffered on their property made it impossible for them to consider anything but selling their pumpkins.  However, many people had already started baking even before the fires began.  So, they say, it seemed a logical choice to honor the brave and hardworking firefighters with those special goodies that would have been sold at Lombardi’s.

Some of the CHS choir students volunteered to show appreciation to those amazing firefighters, for putting their lives on the line, to protect our community.  The students visited Canyon Country’s Fire Station 123 and Fire Station 107, where the students sang the National Anthem and shared some goodies.  They considered it truly an honor to have the opportunity to express their thanks to the firefighters.

**The CHS Choral Booster Club is a non-profit organization that raises money to support the five choirs at Canyon High.  The money raised is used to further the education of students in the CHS Choral programs by funding scholarships, hiring accompanists for concerts, creating set decorations and much more.  Any donations made to the CHS Choral Booster Club are tax deductible.
